A military official clarified that the attack was not carried out by the Israeli Air Force, raising the possibility that it may have come from ground forces.
According to security sources, the strike was carried out after ground forces identified a threat from the hospital roof. Troops of the 36th Division operating in Khan Yunis reported prolonged surveillance directed at them from the rooftop, which prompted the attack.
Security officials emphasized that the hospital area was designated to be cleared of civilians, with only patients and medical staff permitted to remain inside.
