The Palestinian Authority’s ambassador to Tehran, Salam al-Zawawi, was injured after her residence was attacked during the recent unrest in Tehran.
The incident took place on Thursday, January 8, amid escalating riots and violent tensions across the city.
According to reports, an estimated 200 attackers stormed the official residence of the Palestinian Authority ambassador, chanting slogans and hurling Molotov cocktails. The attackers managed to breach the compound, causing significant chaos and damage.
In addition to Ambassador al-Zawawi, several embassy staff members were injured in the assault. The ambassador herself suffered from smoke inhalation and was transferred to a hospital for treatment.
