Arab media outlets are circulating claims that Quds Force commander Ismail Qaani was the individual who photographed the body of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and transferred the image to Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency. 

According to the reports, the Iranian regime later executed Qaani after discovering his alleged role.

The reports remain unconfirmed and appear to be part of the ongoing information war surrounding recent events in Iran. For several years, Israeli commentators have occasionally joked—half seriously—that Qaani might be acting as a Mossad asset, but no evidence has ever publicly supported that claim.
