Several commanders in Iran’s missile forces have reportedly been arrested after refusing orders to launch missiles, highlighting growing tensions inside the Iranian military command structure.
According to the report, Brigadier General (Sardar) Mehdi Karim-Zadeh, commander of the rocket formation in Region 7 and head of the “Shahid Modarres” base in Bidganeh (Malard), was detained along with several missile launcher commanders serving under his unit. The base is part of the IRGC’s “Al-Ghadir” missile command.
The officers are accused of refusing direct orders to carry out missile launches.
Sources say the commanders hesitated to fire the missiles due to fears of an immediate response from Israel and the US. They reportedly believed that once missiles were launched, the launch sites would quickly be detected and destroyed in retaliatory strikes.
