Turkey has several important reasons to culture good ties with Jerusalem, even though he hosts Hamas in Istanbul and supports them in general.

Ties with Israel would buy him points with his standing in NATO, and may make him a partner to the gas and trade routes going from India to Europe.

It seems that his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood are more important as he delivers this statement today:

I am addressing you, Israel, from here. You may be a power. The West may owe you much, but the Republic of Turkey does not owe you anything.

Hamas is not a terrorist organization. Hamas consists of mujahideen trying to defend their own land.
