Mother of suspected Bondi shooter: He is ‘a good boy’

She said: He ‘doesn’t have a firearm … doesn’t drink’
The mother of 24-year-old suspected Bondi Beach terrorist Naveed Akram denied that her son was the shooter, claiming he is a “good boy” who isn’t armed and “doesn’t drink” or “go to bad places.”
Verena Akram told the Sydney Morning Herald the day after the shooting at a Chabad Chanukah event in Bondi Beach, Sydney, that killed at least 15 and wounded dozens of others that her son wasn’t the shooter and doesn’t even own a firearm.
Authorities and witnesses saw Naveed Akram at the scene firing at the crowd along with his father, Sajid, who was shot by law enforcement and died at the scene.
