WATCH: Trump: 'Going amazingly, working on Israel, Syria getting along’

The U.S. president met in the Oval Office with the Syrian president, a first for a head of state from the country

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday in the first time that a Syrian head of state has visited the White House.

Trump spoke to reporters about the Oval Office meeting with the Syrian leader later in the day during a swearing-in ceremony for the new U.S. ambassador to India.

“He’s a very strong leader. He comes from a very tough place. Tough guy. I like him,” Trump said. “I get along with the president, the new president in Syria, and we’ll do everything we can to make Syria successful, because that’s part of the Middle East.”

Alsharaa is the best selection for the security and safety for Israel.He will move according to the Israeli compass,and Syria will be a free fly zone for Israel in any future conflict with its enemies

Alsharaa is the shepherd of the Muslim Sunnis herd in Syria. Muslims obey their rulers as the herd obeys the orders of the shepherd. It’s an order from Allah.

I'm also concerned that Trump is pushing Israel to accept dangerous, existential enemies as friends. He's making Israel look like the bad guy & he seems to be setting up an isolation of Israel.

It disturbed me to learn that Pres. Trump has made a 3 billion dollar deal with Qatar to build a Trump golf course and resort there, in addition to expanding the US army base there. It's not good!

I don't trust him, and it would take a lot more than smiles and breaking bread for me to think he's a good guy. Mast wrongly referred to him as a soldier. He was a brutal, evil terrorist.
