As a PA superhero, his father’s death prompted a special “eulogy and condolences” from the PA/PLO’s Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs. It posted Barghouti’s picture on its official Facebook page with the eulogy, calling him the “heroic prisoner Abdallah Barghouti.” The PA complains that he had “difficult solitary confinement.” It mentions nothing of the 68 he murdered.

The [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ [Affairs], on behalf of the prisoners’ movement in the prisons and the released prisoners in the homeland and diaspora, with great sadness and sorrow eulogizes Ghaleb Barghouti, the father of heroic prisoner Abdallah Barghouti. It should be noted that prisoner Barghouti, 52, has been imprisoned since 2003 and was sentenced to 67 life sentences. He was subjected to difficult solitary confinement for many years, and he is considered to have the highest punishment (i.e., sentence) in the Israeli occupation’s prisons.”
