In light of the ongoing tensions between the US and China, Defense Secretary Pete Hessett returns from Japan with a clear message.
The US is increasing deterrence efforts and strengthening its military ties with Japan. To discuss the implications of the steps, NTD News anchor spoke with James Pennell, a former US Navy intelligence officer.
According to Pannell, "I retired in 2015, 10 years ago, I've been to Japan several times, we talked about these things 10 years ago, why did it take 10 years to do this?
That's the thing that concerns me, and what I would like to see is a change and for this administration to accelerate these steps, because China is not waiting 10 years to get what it wants. And that's the real problem that concerns us. We have to act faster, we can't wait that long."
