After Zohran Mamdani criticized Israel over the killing of Al Jazeera figure Ahmad Washah, old footage resurfaced showing the same man armed and training with Hamas terrorists.
Mamdani presented Washah as a journalist and used his death to attack Israel. But the recordings tell a very different story. In the video, Washah is seen calmly handling weapons, firing, and taking part in terrorist training activity — not the behavior of an innocent media worker caught in the crossfire.
The case once again exposes one of Hamas’ most cynical methods in Gaza: terrorists hiding behind civilian titles, including “journalist,” “aid worker,” and “activist.” These labels are then used by anti-Israel politicians and media outlets to accuse Israel, while ignoring the terror infrastructure operating under the cover of civilian professions.
In Gaza, journalism has too often become a convenient shield for Hamas operatives. When terrorists carry cameras by day and weapons by night, Israel is not targeting journalism — it is targeting terrorism.
