Russian military units on the frontlines in Ukraine are reportedly facing serious disruptions after access to Starlink satellite internet was cut off, according to Kremlin-linked sources.
Russian propagandists claim the loss of connectivity has crippled command-and-control systems and forced the suspension of assault operations in multiple sectors.
Pro-Kremlin Telegram channels reacted with fury, directing insults and threats at Elon Musk, whose company operates the Starlink network. One of the largest military channels, “Two Majors,” published screenshots showing its illegally used Starlink terminal being disconnected, alongside explicit attacks on Musk personally.
In contrast, Ukraine confirmed that its own Starlink access remains intact. Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov stated that all Ukrainian terminals verified and added to an official “white list” continue to function normally. According to Ukrainian authorities, civilian terminals are registered through a state-controlled internal system, while military Starlink units operate via a separate, secure communications channel.
