BREAKING: Venezuela launches military exercises on Caribbean Island

Venezuela's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced the start of military exercises on a Caribbean island today, directly responding to the recent deployment of U.S. warships in the region amid escalating tensions over drug trafficking operations.

The drills involve naval patrols, drones, and troop mobilizations to bolster coastal defenses, López stated in a televised address.

This follows weeks of U.S. naval buildup, including guided-missile destroyers and over 4,000 personnel, aimed at countering Venezuelan-linked cartels.
