During recent activity by the 601st Battalion under the command of the 769th Brigade, IDF forces destroyed a shaft previously used by Hezbollah.
The structure had been located and neutralized earlier in the war, and was now fully eliminated to prevent any future use by the Iran-backed terrorists.
In a separate operation, troops from the 300th Brigade struck and destroyed a Hezbollah weapons storage facility. Both the shaft and the weapons depot had been part of Hezbollah’s entrenched infrastructure in southern Lebanon—remnants of the enemy’s long-term efforts to build up attack capabilities along Israel’s northern border.
During the war, IDF forces discovered various weapons inside the shaft, including mortar bombs intended for attacks against Israel. Although these were outdated and no longer active, the IDF chose to demolish the sites to ensure Hezbollah cannot exploit them again.
