The battle over the future of Gaza is moving from the battlefield to the donor table.

After UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that UNRWA is nearing collapse and demanded another $100 million from member states to keep the agency alive, the US responded with a sharp message: the world must decide what it wants to fund.

In a direct response, Trump’s Board of Peace wrote that UNRWA has no place in the new Gaza. “We are turning the page on the complex machinery of permanent dependency on aid and conflict,” the statement said. “The people of Gaza deserve more.”
