Kyiv and Istanbul came in at the bottom of the ranking of "Livable European Cities" in 2023, while the Austrian capital, Vienna, topped the list.
According to the economic information unit of the British magazine "The Economist", the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, was recorded as the worst city to live in Europe, followed by Istanbul in the penultimate place.
The index relies in its evaluation on 5 main aspects, which are "livelihood, culture, environment, health services, in addition to infrastructure and stability".

Cities located in the western part of Europe reached the top of the list.
The 5 cities at the top of the list are, in order, Vienna (98.4 points), Copenhagen (98 points), Zurich (97.1 points), Geneva (96.8 points), and Helsinki (95.6 points).
The capital of Syria, Damascus, is ranked, for the tenth year in a row, as the worst city to live in in the world in 2023, while the capital of Libya, Tripoli, is ranked next to last.
