Pakistan’s role as a mediator is being questioned after its defense minister published an openly antisemitic statement just before hosting major diplomatic talks between the US and Iran.
FOR: The US should move the talks because a country whose senior leadership promotes such extreme anti-Israel rhetoric cannot be trusted as a neutral or honest broker in sensitive negotiations.
AGAINST: The US could keep the talks in Pakistan, arguing that diplomacy often requires working with imperfect partners and that moving the venue might derail critical negotiations.
