In a January 21, 2026 interview on Al-Mashhad TV, former Egyptian Islamic Jihad leader Nabil Naeem claimed that the Muslim Brotherhood was created by Britain and continues to enjoy protection there.
According to Naeem, senior Brotherhood figures are welcomed in London because they provide intelligence to British authorities.
Speaking to Sky News Arabia, Naeem said he has “no problem” with the Muslim Brotherhood ideologically, but described it as a “British-made organization,” arguing that this explains why so many of its leaders reside in the UK.
He recounted meeting a fellow inmate in an Egyptian prison who had previously lived in London and claimed that Brotherhood members there were required to cooperate with British intelligence services. According to Naeem, the man was deported directly from Britain to an Egyptian prison after refusing to provide information.
