Reports from Tehran say Iran is recruiting volunteers for Hezbollah in Lebanon, offering $1,000 a month as the terror group struggles with heavy losses from the war with Israel.
Iran has reportedly launched a public recruitment campaign for volunteers to join Hezbollah in Lebanon, offering a monthly salary of around $1,000 and presenting the mission as both a religious and military duty.
The campaign, which appeared in street advertisements in Tehran, points to the growing manpower crisis inside Hezbollah after months of Israeli strikes, battlefield losses and damage to its command structure. Hezbollah, which traditionally relied heavily on Lebanese Shiite recruitment, now appears to be turning more openly to Iran to help refill its ranks.
The proposed salary is especially significant inside Iran, where the economy is under heavy pressure and average wages remain low. The regime is reportedly targeting Basij members, ideological volunteers and young Iranians from poorer backgrounds who may be drawn by the money as well as by regime propaganda.
