Zainab Nasrallah, daughter of former Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, said she would willingly sacrifice her son as a martyr if he were to die “on this path with honor and glory,” adding that such a death would make her family proud.
In a January 12, 2026 episode of journalist Dalia Dagher’s podcast on YouTube, Zainab Nasrallah was asked whether she would sacrifice her son as a martyr. She replied unequivocally that she would, saying that everyone dies eventually and that dying on this path brings honor and glory.
When asked whether other Lebanese sects — including Christians, Druze, and Sunnis — have agreed to make similar sacrifices, Nasrallah said that while these groups had been part of the “resistance” and made sacrifices in the past, she was referring specifically to the Shiʿi community today.
Nasrallah’s father, Hassan Nasrallah, led Hezbollah until his death in September 2005.
