Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign spent almost $50,000 in Puerto Rico from late June to September—much of it on luxury hotels, expensive meals, and more than $23,000 for a venue rental at the same San Juan arena where she was filmed dancing during a Bad Bunny concert.
During the August trip, videos showed AOC touring a housing project to attack “gentrification,” even as her campaign shelled out five-figure sums for top-tier accommodations and high-end food. The venue rental payments coincided with Bad Bunny’s residency run at the “El Choli” Coliseo, raising further questions about what was actually being funded.
Federal Election Commission filings show AOC spent $15,489 on lodging alone in Puerto Rico, including luxury stays at Hotel Palacio Provincial and Hotel El Convento. Another $10,743 went to upscale restaurants such as Cocina Abierta and Verde Mesa.
