The Palestinian Authority's Minister of Economy, Muhammad Al-Amor, stated that she supports Turkey's decision to impose restrictions on trade with Israel, "even though Palestinian trade will be adversely affected" by the decision.
The minister said that the Turkish government's decision confirms its support for the Palestinian people and the efforts to force the Israeli government to stop the "genocide".
The PA's support comes even though the Palestinian market, as mentioned, is expected to be damaged.
Turkey is the number three import source for the Palestinian market after Israel and China. Since October 7, there has been a 15% increase in Palestinian imports from Turkey.
All imports to the Palestinian market are conducted through Israel's ports.
Among other things, the Palestinians import fertilizers and other agricultural inputs from Turkey, for which they will now have to find substitutes.
