The Wall Street Journal reported that Hezbollah has begun rebuilding its weapons stockpile and reorganizing its ranks — a move that violates the ceasefire terms and raises the risk of renewed conflict with Israel.
According to intelligence cited by the paper, Hezbollah is replenishing its stores of rockets, anti-tank weapons, and artillery. Some of the arms are being smuggled through Syrian routes and seaports, while others are domestically manufactured by Hezbollah itself.
Israeli sources told the WSJ that Israel is “losing patience” with Hezbollah’s activities, heightening the likelihood of escalation along the northern border. On Friday, Israel’s public broadcaster said the government is considering expanding military operations in Lebanon in response to Hezbollah’s rearmament efforts.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly held a small security meeting on Thursday to discuss the situation in Lebanon amid Hezbollah’s attempts to restore its offensive and defensive capabilities.
