Since the war began in October, many elements in the Arab and Muslim world have harshly attacked the Emirates (UAE) for continuing its warm ties with Israel despite what it "perpetrated" for their capture in Gaza. But the Emirates are not bothered by the detractors.
The ambassador of the Emirates to the United Nations, Lana Nasiba (pictured), answered today to the critics: "Thanks to this cooperation (with Israel), we have a field hospital in Gaza and we have a floating hospital in Aleris, Egypt."
And she added: "This is not enough for the people of Gaza. What we need is a humanitarian ceasefire and a two-state solution.
Will we achieve this by talking to people who agree with us? No. We will achieve this by talking to those with whom we have a disagreement.
The Emirates will always continue to be proud of what it does."
