At a fiercely tense meeting in Geneva, Israel secured its place in Eurovision 2026—sparking fresh rule changes, international backlash, and an unprecedented four-nation walkout that turned the contest into a full-blown European drama.
After a tense night in Geneva, it’s now official: Israel will participate in Eurovision 2026.
The decision comes alongside the approval of several new voting regulations designed to curb the influence of the strongly pro-Israel audience vote.
But the drama didn’t end there.
In direct response to Israel’s inclusion and the rule changes, four countries announced they are withdrawing from the competition, deepening the political storm surrounding Eurovision.
