During the first visit of an Israeli minister to the country in the Persian Gulf, Lapid met the regent and Bahraini prime minister, Hemed bin Issa al-Khalifa. Lapid thanked the king for "a warm and hopeful meeting, in a model of partnership and coexistence between cultures".
