Democrats accuse DOJ of ‘voter intimidation’ over election monitors
Democrats are denouncing the Department of Justice’s decision to deploy election monitors to polling locations across California and New Jersey for the upcoming November 4 general election, calling it an act of “voter intimidation.”
The DOJ said monitors from its Civil Rights Division will oversee polling sites in six jurisdictions — including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Kern, and Fresno counties in California, and Passaic County, New Jersey — to ensure compliance with federal voting laws.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said the move aims to safeguard transparency and public trust in the electoral process.
