Amr Habib, a resident of the town of Zakia, revealed the arrival of experts whose cars, clothes and slogans affixed to their military uniforms were clearly from the ranks of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, adding that they arrived with military policemen from the Syrian army forces accompanied by a special translator.
The resident also stated that when the Revolutionary Guards arrived, two drones were hovering in the sky of the area.
It is worth noting that the three HNA battalions are located on a straight line about 35 kilometers from the border with the Israeli Golan, and they were destroyed in the previous Israeli bombardment of the positions of the Syrian army and the Iranian militia, and it is likely that the reactivation of the battalions should give the air defense forces of the Syrian army greater effectiveness against attacks mostly targeting Iranian sites in the Damascus countryside.
Last February, Iran's official television reported that Tehran would sell a surface-to-air missile system to the Syrian army to help it strengthen its air defense against repeated Israeli airstrikes.
The state broadcaster in Tehran said: "Syria needs to rebuild its air defense network, and it is asking for precision bombs for its fighter jets, adding: "It is very likely that we will see the supply from Iran of radars and missiles for defense purposes, such as the Khordad-15 system , to strengthen Syria's air defense systems."
