This is a deal to install an infrared-based passive aerial warning system on the Royal Netherlands Air Force's Gulfstream G650 aircraft.
Elbit Systems has won a contract to supply missile defense systems to the Royal Netherlands Air Force's Gulfstream G650 aircraft. In announcing the deal on July 14, the Israeli company announced that it would supply its infrared counterpart directly from an infrared-based air-pass warning system, or IR-PAWS, for installation on the long-range business aircraft.
The Dutch Air Force is set to receive its new G650 later this year, when the aircraft will replace the Gulfstream IV. "The growing threat to shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles is increasing the demand for self-defense systems," said Oren Sabag, ISTAR & EW's CEO at Elbit.
