Rabies in the North: An infected jackal attacked a man and a woman in the Galilee
The animal infected with the deadly disease attacked a 60-year-old woman this morning in Kibbutz Shanir. After that, a 40-year-old man who was walking in the settlement was also bitten.

A man and a woman were attacked this morning (Friday) in Kibbutz Shanir in the Upper Galilee. The two were bitten and taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed for medical treatment and vaccination against rabies. After several hours of wandering in the settlement, the jackal was shot and sent for examination. There is a reasonable chance that it was infected with rabies.
