A Venezuelan opposition activist who suffered political persecution, was even imprisoned in his homeland, and fled to the U.S. managed to make his voice heard directly in front of the socialist leader Nicolás Maduro during his trial in New York.
According to the man named Pedro Rojas, he told Maduro that "he is not innocent as he claims and that he is guilty of all the accusations."
"Maduro looked me straight in the eye... I am not afraid, I speak on behalf of 40 million Venezuelans, who are happy today because of Maduro's arrest," Rojas recounts.
According to him, "Today in Venezuela there are political prisoners sentenced to 20, 18, 14 years. Mothers in Venezuela have been arrested because of this bloodthirsty man."
