A Lebanese political analyst warns that Iran’s missile capabilities could target Washington, D.C., and overwhelm US and Israeli defenses.
Lebanese political analyst Ismail Al-Najjar said in a February 6, 2026 interview that the United States is incapable of stopping Iran, while Iran has the ability to strike American bases across the region and even target Washington, D.C.
He claimed that Iran’s military power has “terrified” America and argued that Washington is not beyond reach. Referring to the recent 12-day war between Iran and Israel, Al-Najjar asserted that Iran launched around 1,000 missiles at Israel, causing massive destruction. He alleged that entire areas in Tel Aviv were left in ruins, with skyscrapers and large buildings “completely incinerated.”
Al-Najjar further claimed that the United States cannot meaningfully respond to Iran, while Tehran retains the capacity to pulverize US military installations throughout the Middle East. He framed Iran’s actions as proof of a shifting balance of power in the region, suggesting that American deterrence has eroded.
