Senior political officials in Jerusalem have confirmed that the US has passed on to Iran, through Pakistan, a 15-point plan designed to end the war in the Middle East, and that the Trump administration has informed Israel of the details of the plan.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump and his deputy, J.D. Vance, who is expected to lead the negotiating team with Iran. Former Secretary Ron Dermer has also held talks with senior White House officials on the subject.
According to the same sources, the American proposal includes a demand that Iran commit to never seeking to obtain nuclear weapons; to cease all uranium enrichment on its territory; to hand over to the International Atomic Energy Agency all enriched uranium in its possession; to destroy the nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow; and to stop arming and financing its branches throughout the Middle East.
As for freedom of navigation, the US demands that the Strait of Hormuz remain open, and that the maritime space in the region be defined as a free shipping lane. In the area of ballistic missiles, Washington is demanding that Iran limit both the number of missiles and their range, and that they be used only for self-defense purposes.
