It can be announced that in a joint operation by the Shin Bet and Israel Police, Muhammad Amash, an Israeli citizen, aged 24, a student at the College of Technology in Beersheba, originally from Jisr al-Zarqa, was arrested for questioning during November 2024 on suspicion of security activity inspired by the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization.
During his interrogation at the Shin Bet and at the central unit of the Negev region in the southern district, it emerged that he had joined the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization as a member and had sworn an oath of allegiance to the organization. It also emerged that Muhammad Amash operated profiles on Instagram through which he shared numerous extremist content from the Islamic State, including calls to commit acts of terrorism.
At the end of his investigation, the Southern District Attorney's Office (Criminal) filed an indictment today charging him with security offenses, including membership in a terrorist organization, expressing sympathy with a terrorist organization, and incitement to terrorism.
