"Here's the thing. As much as I admire President Trump — and I do, and I've said so many times — I think that he does suffer from a Western disease of not realizing that these people are jihadist maniacs."
When Rubio also said later, he said, "Look, if they're using the Strait of Hormuz to hold the world hostage, imagine what they would do if they had nuclear weapons. If you think for a second that anybody in that regime, including the so-called pragmatists, are willing to give that up, their one leverage, you're kidding yourself.
And so is Trump kidding himself."And so my understanding of the president, I think you agree. He says, right, this is the most important issue of the nuclear program. And there's no deal, right? I'm going to stick to this. There's no deal. This is not over until you agree to a serious concession on the nuclear program. That's Trump. It's his whole justification for the war.
