ELIMINATING STUMBLING BLOCKS: Israel attacked targets in the 132nd Air Defense Brigade and the 175th Artillery Regiment in Southern Syria tonight
It appears that Israel is continuing its work of uprooting any long-term threat that once belonged to the Syrian army and is now a candidate for use by the new Syrian army of Julani and is within direct threat range of Israel.
Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on sites in the Daraa governorate, southern Syria, on Monday evening, killing two civilians and wounding 19 others, the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
SANA reported via its Twitter account that “Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on targets in the Daraa city area,” without providing further details on the targets hit.
Daraa governorate, for its part, announced via its Telegram channel It said the strikes targeted “residential buildings in the city of Izraa and the 175th Artillery Regiment with several strikes.”
In response, an IDF spokesman confirmed that it had “attacked command posts and military headquarters in southern Syria.”
Later news reports said that Israeli warplanes had attacked the 175th Artillery Regiment deployed near the town of Izraa (located more than 20 km from the Israeli border) with several airstrikes, while airstrikes were also carried out on the 132nd IDF Brigade deployed at the military airport in Daraa province, causing heavy explosions that shook the area.
As a result of the Israeli warplanes' attack on the 132nd Air Defense Brigade in the city of Daraa, ambulances and fire trucks were forced to rush to the target location.
The Syria TV news network claims that this evening Israel carried out 30 airstrikes on targets in the Daraa, Izra and Inhil regions.
