ICYMI: WATCH: 26 years after Nasrallah’s “spider web” speech, IDF troops close the circle in Bint Jbeil

In May 2000, as the IDF was withdrawing from Lebanon’s security zone, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah stood in a stadium in Bint Jbeil and delivered his infamous “spider web” speech, claiming Israel was weak and fragile.

Twenty-six years later, the picture in that same city looks completely different.

Bint Jbeil, once one of Hezbollah’s most symbolic strongholds, has now become the site of a major operational and symbolic reversal. Fighters from Yahalom, the IDF’s elite combat engineering unit, returned to the town that had become part of Hezbollah’s myth — and part of Israel’s painful memory from the Second Lebanon War.
