Saudi network Al Arabiya reports that the vast majority of Iranian launches in the current conflict were aimed at Gulf states rather than Israel. According to the data, 85% of Iran’s attacks targeted Gulf countries, compared to just 15% directed at Israel.
The figures show that a total of 4,911 rockets, missiles, and drones were launched toward Gulf states, while 850 were aimed at Israel. Breaking it down further, 1,119 rockets and missiles were fired at Gulf countries versus 300 at Israel, and 3,792 drones were launched toward the Gulf compared to 550 toward Israel. The report concludes that despite Israel actively striking Iranian targets, it is Gulf nations that have absorbed the overwhelming majority of Iran’s attacks.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
This data challenges the common narrative that Iran’s primary confrontation is with Israel alone. Instead, it highlights that Iran’s aggression is directed broadly across the region — including heavily toward Arab Gulf states that are not actively attacking Iran. This could have major implications for regional alliances, potentially pushing Gulf countries closer to Israel as they recognize a shared threat from Tehran.
