Canadian Imam Abdullah Hakim Quick in Toronto Friday sermon: The Vatican displays arrogance and splendor; Christians have no modesty, use pagan symbols.
Canadian Islamic scholar Abdullah Hakim Quick discussed Islam’s relationship with Christianity in his April 25, 2025 Friday sermon at the Toronto and Region Islamic Centre, following the recent passing of the Pope.
He cited an episode from the biography of the Prophet Muhammad, in which Christians in Arabia approached the Prophet with arrogance, which he likened to the attitude of Christians in the Vatican today, saying: “You see them with their clothing, their arrogance, and their splendor.”
Quick said that three things distinguish Muslims in Canada from the Christian majority, that Christians eat “swine flesh,” use “pagan symbols” like the Cross, and lack modesty and shame.
He stated that Jesus is alive and will return to rule over the Muslims, and that he will slay the pigs and break the Cross.
