An IDF helicopter carrying President Isaac Herzog was forced to make an emergency landing at the Palmachim base Israeli Air Force base in central Israel while returning from a ceremony marking 12 years since Operation Protective Edge, after it struck a bird. 

No injuries or damage were reported.

As part of standard procedure, the flight crew transferred to another helicopter and continued the flight.
