Despite talk of a ceasefire, Israeli forces are continuing operations against Hezbollah’s frontline infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The latest activity was reported in Maroun al-Ras, a village overlooking Israel’s northern border that Hezbollah has long used as a fortified military position.
The continued destruction of buildings and terrorist infrastructure in villages along the border reflects Israel’s determination to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding the attack positions it established only a short distance from Israeli communities. These locations were not merely civilian villages: Hezbollah embedded weapons, observation posts, tunnels and combat positions throughout them, transforming the area into a forward military zone aimed directly at Israel.
Israel’s message is clear: a diplomatic agreement will not be allowed to become cover for Hezbollah to return to the border and recreate the threat that existed before the war. Whether there is a formal ceasefire or not, the IDF will continue acting wherever Hezbollah attempts to reestablish its military presence.
