Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem warned that no agreement with Israel will be accepted if it undermines Lebanon’s “sovereignty” or opens the door to normalization.
In a address aired on Al-Jazeera, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem attacked the emerging framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, declaring that no one has the right to sign or approve anything on Lebanon’s behalf.
Qassem said that any commitment made “at the expense of Lebanon’s sovereignty” would not be tolerated, and insisted that all proposed solutions must exclude normalization with Israel, an end to hostility, or any gains for Israel.
He also rejected any continued Israeli presence in Lebanon, even as part of a partial security arrangement, and said Israel must withdraw “in defeat and humiliation.”
