19-year-old Border Police fighters, Yazan Fallah and Shirel Aboukaret, were killed last night (Sunday) in a terrorist attack in Hadera. Border Police Commander Amir Cohen praised them: His participation in the grief of the families. "A highly motivated young man and woman fighter who gave their lives for the security of the citizens of Israel."
Yazan Fallah, 19, from Kasra Samia, enlisted in the Border Police about a year ago and served in the MG Company at the Judea and Samaria Border Police. He left behind parents, a brother and a sister.
Shirel Aboukaret, 19, from Netanya, enlisted in the Border Police about six months ago and served in the MG Company at the Judea and Samaria Border Police. She left behind parents and a brother.
Sheikh Mofek Tarif, head of the Druze community, offered his condolences to the families of the murdered and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. "A criminal attack took place this evening on the streets of a city in Israel," he said. "Terrorism must not be allowed to raise its head. The security forces must do everything possible to cut off the roots of terrorism and those behind them," he called, adding, "The Druze community is once again paying a heavy price in defending state security." One of the dead, Yazan Fallah, is a member of the Druze community.
Yazan Fallah and Shirel Aboukaret were killed and five others were injured in a shooting attack carried out by two terrorists on Herbert Samuel Street in Hadera. Among the injured were three policemen. Seven victims of anxiety were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Hospital. An undercover force that was at the scene neutralized the terrorists, cousins living in Umm al-Fahm, at the end of a shootout. ISIS (Islamic State) claimed responsibility for the attack.
"I and two other fighters ate at a restaurant and suddenly we heard gunshots, we went straight out to understand what was happening," he recalled. A ceramic vest with three cartridges on it, holding the M16 and firing at the fighters. I recognized him and neutralized him. "Corporal Y. added that the other terrorist was hiding behind a vehicle, and when he recognized him, he fired and neutralized him.
