"Four years ago today I packed my life in five suitcases and moved to Israel. One month ago I married my best friend, whom I would never have met if fate hadn't placed us on the same @birthrightisrael trip in 2014 (swipe for photo ๐คช). Every year on this day I’m reminded of the courage I had to pick up and leave everything behind for a dream -- I wasn’t happy where I was and I knew if I didn’t make a change right then and there I would never know what opportunities could be waiting for me. I left my friends, family, and a comfortable job behind for the unknown -- to try out a new relationship, to live in a country where I didn’t know anyone or the language. I was scared, to say the least!
I couldn’t have imagined I’d be where I am four years later: working in an amazing women-led firm designing some of the largest campuses in Israel for clients like Microsoft, and Intel, leading projects and working in Hebrew -- a language I didn’t know how to speak one word of when I got here! -- supported by amazing coworkers whom I’m lucky enough to call friends and friends and family that hold me up and keep me laughing. Moral of the story: if you’re thinking about it... go for it. You can only grow from these experiences. ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฑ"
