US makes uncompromising demands from the Lebanese government
With the transfer of $95 million by the Americans to strengthen the Lebanese army, the US State Department accompanied this with clear demands from the Lebanese government:
- Preventing the smuggling of weapons and money to Hezbollah.
- Stable and effective deployment of the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon.
- Beginning of operations to eliminate and eradicate Hezbollah's military capabilities across the Litani River (also north of it).

The American goals are clear: Exploiting the momentum of the Israeli attacks that led to the weakening of Hezbollah.
