The conflict between the Syrian 4th Division under General Maher al-Assad (Bashar Assad's brother) and the Lebanese Hezbollah has intensified in the Damascus Rif areas, following disputes over drug shipments and areas of control.

Disagreements between the two sides escalated after Lebanese Hezbollah recruited new people to take care of selling heroin shipments in the region, and halting the supply of drugs to dealers related to the Division 4.

Division 4 has threatened to reveal the names of the new distributors and storage and clearing sites in the vicinity of Damascus, unless Hezbollah agrees to its demands to increase its percentage of shipping profits, and return the distribution craft to Syrian military personnel and dealers related to Division 4.

According to the Kol HaBira network, the conflict began in the middle of last month, against the background of Division 4's demand to increase its share of shipping profits to 50%, in exchange for providing facilities from there to Damascus and its rural areas, after receiving a commission ranging from 30 to 30 40 percent of the profits from shipments of cannabis and narcotics.

The media network confirmed that the disagreements intensified against the background of the rejection of Division 4 requirements to increase their margin percentage, and the recruitment of commanders and new elements from the local militias, to oversee the drug distribution process along with those associated with Division 4, before their permanent removal.

It should be noted that Hezbollah and Division 4 personnel have flooded the Syrian capital, Damascus, and its rural areas with drugs, as they are now promoted on private, daylight and public computer platforms.
