I think anything that helps dealing with this trauma is okay by me. I have been rethinking this prohibition and here a good reason to ignore it.

Jews aren't supposed to get tattoos. It's their decision. I just wanted to note this.

To me personally, there are other ways to deal with grief. But I wouldn't have a tattoo.
