“We will preserve our vital interests in any situation,” Netanyahu said
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will continue military operations against Iran and Hezbollah even as the United States explores the possibility of a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.
In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu said he spoke earlier in the day with U.S. President Donald Trump following Trump’s announcement that the United States would postpone planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure for several days to allow for continued talks.
“Earlier today I spoke with our friend President Trump,” Netanyahu said. “President Trump believes there is an opportunity to leverage the tremendous achievements we achieved together with the U.S. military in order to achieve the war’s objectives through an agreement, an agreement that will preserve our vital interests.”
