Speaking on Iranian television, Mottaki claimed that US bases across the Middle East are legitimate targets and argued that Iran is capable of waging a serious ground war against American forces.

He said Tehran should go beyond missile strikes and attempt to overrun one of the bases, claiming that each facility houses hundreds or even thousands of US personnel.

Mottaki suggested that Iranian forces could capture 100 American soldiers and rapidly transfer them to Iran.
