The poll asks several questions directly involving Israel in its war against Gaza - and has some surprisingly good news, especially in the numbers of Gen-Z!
Many thanks to our contributor Dr. Kobby Barda for his report and notes on this poll!
1. SHOULD CONGRESS PASS THE $14 BILLION AID PACKAGE FOR ISRAEL?
Let's start with the transfer of 14 billion dollars to Israel. We have a relatively solid majority of 55-45 to transfer the aid to Israel.
In a *really* surprising way, Generation Z with 61% support, is second only to seniors (Israel's classic audience) with 67% support.
2. DO YOU SUPPORT ISRAEL IN THE WAR - OR HAMAS?
82% of the American public supports Israel (compared to 18% support for Hamas), with the *very* encouraging figure that Generation Z sharply increases support from 49% in the previous survey in November to 72% in the current survey, along with the impressive support for the transfer of aid from the question The previous one gives great food for thought about the fact that something works right in Generation Z.
68% think that Israel is trying to avoid unnecessary harm.
3. DO YOU SUPPORT A CEASEFIRE ONLY AFTER HOSTAGES ARE RELEASED AND HAMAS REMOVED FROM POWER?
As for the calls for a ceasefire *before* the release of the captives, an impressive majority of two-thirds (67%) think that the captives should be returned *before* a ceasefire, and this is an especially important statistic in light of the harassment suffered by the legislators and influencers who demand the release before an immediate ceasefire.
4. DO YOU SUPPORT THE ISRAELI GROUND INVASION OF GAZA?
Also in the context of the continuation of the ground operation in Gaza, there is an impressive majority of 63% who continue to support the ground operation 4+ months after the start of the operation in Gaza, which is an important indication for the policy makers regarding this issue.
5. DO YOU SUPPORT US ATTACKS ON IRAN-PROXIES?
And perhaps the most important question only indirectly concerns Israel. The question is do you support military activity against the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas and other Iranian proxies? The answer was 67% in favor, which is 2/3.
In addition, 54% do not support the president's "soft" policy in this regard.
