The Munich massacre was an attack during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, by eight members of the Palestinian terrorist group Black September (PLO), who took nine members of the Israeli Olympic team hostage, after killing two more.
At the invitation of the President of Germany, President Herzog will participate in a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the massacre of the 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics.
This, after the families of the spacemen accepted the offer of the German government and were compensated in the amount of 28 million euros. Later in the visit, the President will address the German House of Representatives and visit a concentration camp.
